I need to get a front differential guard for my soft top. Any suggestions as to where or what brand?
I do 100% of my off roading in the very rocky southwest deserts. It is important that I can check and drain the diff lube without a major production. Thanks....

The beefiest cover by far belongs to Rover Tracks but you have to modify the panhard rod, I know they were working on one w/o modifying but not sure if they came out with it yet.

The second best one belongs to RoverBiz.

Do you want a full Diff guard or just a a diff cover?

Diff guards - Southdown guard I think is the best for full coverage, then I think QT makes one that looks like a mini southdown unit where the whole front diff is surrounded buy the guard. The downside to the Southdown though is that they are wicked pricey, and in deep mud or creasting sandy areas, can act as a plow. But in rock, I think they are the cats meow and once again, now run both Southdown front and rears on my wheelers.

Diff covers - I dont recall seeing the RoverTracks one yet but if Yousef thinks they are beefy, I would lean to say you can take his word on it. The ones from RoverBiz have a great reputation with people that have them.

Cut your stock diff cover off and replace it with a sewer cap. Never worry about your diff again (except for the exploding R&P).

BTW, I have a front axle housing that is sewercapped for sale.

QT wrap-around with pinion guard is the best, IMHO. I ordered direct from QT in the UK.

That QT unit is pretty sweet.

These guys sell the QTs in the states. Last time I asked they were $245 a pair. http://www.discountbritishparts.com/

Have the SGs - pretty tough, but of course they don't cover the full housing like the QTs. I'd get the QTs if ordering today.

I have QT's, got them from Nathan at the address tyler posted. They are sweet!!! He once said he would separate (front and rear), but get the rear too, it's great as well. (and Nathan is great to deal with!)

Ok since everyone posting pictures I'll post mine. This is IMO is the best guard in the market. I had SG, and RoverBiz, but this one by far is the best as it covers the whole diff.
.. and if you care about the pinion guard then get one of those.

Thanks, I just installed a pair of SG's. If the work as well as they look, I should never have a problem.
