Getting off Rust Stains

Hey, I recently got a '94 D90 and I'm having a hard time getting the rust stains off the paint, especially under the rollcage fixture near the rear view mirror. I was wondering if any one could suggest a good cleaner to remove it, or any suggestions as to what I should do about it. I've decided to change the bolts to stainless steel to try and prevent any further rusting aswell. If anyone has any other suggestions or experience with this problem I would greatly appreciate your advice, thanks!

I've used a product called CLR - Calcium, Lime and Rust remover on my hinges and it works well. Avail at all major big box stores...

Ya, I have CLR at home, but I was afraid it would corrode the aluminum. Any problems with this? Were you able to use it to get stains off the paint too? Thanks for the advice!

Never had a problem. Just use it sparingly and wash it off well.
