rear door lock hard to open

The rear doors on both of my trucks are suffering from the same symptom: the handle needs to be lifted to the max and then some for them to unlock.

Are the innards of these adjustable to fix this? I'd kill to have them open, say, when the handle's half lifted.

Have you tried adjusting the location of the striker pin?

I've never had a latch mechanism apart personally, but I did have to adjust mine. If anything, mine open a bit too easily. I have to really slam it shut to get the rear door to lock.

With many things, it's on the list of things to adjust.
