I just bought two new rear wings for my NAS D-90 from Safari Rovers off of ebay. My drivers side has a large dent from a rear ender before I owned it and the passenger side some corrosion beginning so I thought I would just buy new. The price was right regardless.

My question is has any one ever removed a rear wing before? Do these need to be spot welded in place?

You can replace them by drilling out the spot welds, but you will not find a spot welder able to spot weld the aluminum. You can use countersunk rivets and put a little bondo or lead over the rivets and make it look like its spot welded or you can TIG weld it to look like a spot weld. Now that's the spot welds, the rest is riveted in place - a pneumatic rivet gun is essential :)
