Anybody know where the main ground from the battery is supposed to connect under the chassis? While replacing the stereo I noticed mine is just flapping around under the truck. The wire comes off the negative terminal, connected to what I believe is a transmission mount and then is not connected anywhere else.

Thoughts/Pictures?

Funny. I was going to ask the same question. My dash lights blink and sometimes the odometer flashes garbage colors, especially in the rain. This makes me think think that the ground is loose or corroded.

On my truck I used an unused hole in the frame and attached the cable from the battery on the outside. On the inside of the frame rail I attached another ground cable and ran that over to one of the bell housing bolts. I sanded that spot on the frame on both sides to assure good conductivity and used di-electric grease to assure it stays that way. I also have another ground that runs from the frame to one of the starter mounting bolts.

On mine, the ground goes from the battery to the DS frame rail, then to the trany.

That's what I have, but I also have a loose ground cable from the engine that probably should be attached somewhere..... When I get some time, I'll open the WSM....

I think I figured out the routing for the main ground from the battery. Look at the attached PDF photo I have labled and let me know your thoughts.
