View Full Version : Instructions for fitting HOOD sticks, mounts, etc.?

Anybody know where I can find some detailed instructions on mounting the hood kits, hoops, exactly where the holes go, where the rope ties go, etc.?

Ordered a kit from the UK and the instructions include only how the parts fit together, but not how they fit to the truck.

You still modifying that thing? or is this for the new RR?
havent seen ya for a while.
No help here, as I have no idea what that part is for, but post some pics of the rig after you do the mod.

Chris - I actually have been meaning to order up one of your hoods as well - the one for hoops on a converted SW90 of course... but yes this is going on my 1997 SW (which I've stripped the hard top from).

Arbi - of course I am. ;) Making the thing lighter and breezier.

I have an 1985 L/R 90 SW and think mine has the mounting holes/tubes in the top of the body capping.
I can look tomorrow.

Hmm, still hard to tell where exactly the holes would go. Top view I think I need...wow, amazing there are no instructions out there. Been searching hours...

It looks like those are integrated right into the cappings. I don't know what your plan was but last I checked, cappings were relatively inexpensive, maybe it is worth just getting a set that are designed to hold the sticks.

they do seem to be part of the capping

For parts you might try http://www.tntlr.com/ - Bill also may be able to advise on the holes.
He was very helpful when I needed hood parts.
If you still need pics I could show you where they go on an ex-mod.

My understanding is that they just drop into holes in the cappings. in the pic I posted you can see them right behind the bulkhead and in tamacos post you can see them in the back corners.

Not sure that the NAS cappings have the proper size holes \ tubes.
