The guage is not accurate from the factory. If it is truly hot, check thermostat, waterpump, operation of electric fans (which would not be the case this time of year in most areas)

Hows the heat work?
That will explain some things.

A lot of folks on here have been at it a lot longer than me, but that is where I would start. Use something to measure actual temperature rather than the guage.

Heater works fine. My temp gauge stays in the 190-210 range.
