View Full Version : Brake Pedal To The Floor

Just pulled my 110 out after a couple months of it sitting in the garage and the brake pedal goes to the floor and wont stiffen up no matter how much you pump it. The truck will barely stop itself on flat ground at a crawl.
Fluid level is good and I cant see any obvious problems. Thanks, Mike

Air in there somewhere, I would bleed the brakes first then go from that point.

I had a wheel bearing go bad, similar symptoms. Although I can't see how extended storage could cause a bearing to fail.

Just talked to my mechanic buddy and he says if the fluid level is good it has to be the master. Sound right to anyone here? Thanks, Mike

Check the slave cylinder too. I find they fail more often than the master. Cheaper to fix too.

The bad news is that even if replacing the slave fixes the problem, the master typically goes bad soon after. Some sort of wierd symbiotic relationship. I would recommend replacing the master, slave and flex hose between them all at once if you can.

61rover he said brake not clutch.

Air got into the system somehow. Bleed it out and it will fix it for the time being, but you need to figure out how it happened. Bad MC, leak in a line, bad caliper, bad wheel cylinder.

Assuming you turned the motor on to reload the assist?

Assuming you turned the motor on to reload the assist?Yes, had to back the truck out of the garage and barely had enough brake to stop it at idle speed. Am going to check all items mentioned in posts and will report back with what I find. Thanks for the help. Mike

Not without a serious fight, at least on the LT77 :)
