Seen this truck change hands several times. Its now at my place for a frame swap, RHD -> LHD conversion, Auto Install, Paint and creature comfort updates. Truck is being built on a budget while considering the best bang for the buck.

Here are the initial tear down images. Truck overall is in good shape for the age but due to some old frame repairs and rust the owner has decided to swap out the questionable frame for a new galvanized Marsland Chassis.

Looks like I dropped my camera one to many times. Sorry about the image quality.

Speaking of topless, I also dig your "wall paper" in pic 7...

Strong runner. Fires right up at every key stroke (then overheats). Will correct that later but I was shocked how well it is coming apart so far.

She (not sure of her name yet) will receive all that is needed to give a new lease on life.

Likely gonna need new doors and some other bits but otherwise the body is all there.

Wasn't this truck at Trevor's place for a while?

if not it looks identical

Hey guys! Yep, that beast is mine...no name yet, but I think I'm gonna save that for the finale. Stephen, thanks for setting this thread up about the build. I've talked to alot of people about this soon-to-be badass rover. Right now, I'm posting to yall from Kuwait enroute to Baghdad.--was home on R&R for 2 weeks after being in Iraq for 8 months--and now I'm heading back. It works out perfectly how Stephen's shop is about an hour from my parents' house. Visiting the shop and hangin out with Stephen for a bit was awesome. And let me tell you guys, Stephen's setup is flatout great. If you ever get the chance to see his shop, check it out for sure. Like I said, definitely lookin forward to seein the outcome, and it's great to check up on the progress in my down time out here. Hey Jim, how did your shipping of the 90 go for ya out to CO? And Stephen, with that huge drop-off of parts and whatnot, I think I left a box with part of my helicopter helmet in it. It's really no big deal, and I can get a replacement part over here no problem. Lemme know if it turns up, and keep up the great work. Cheers!

-Ryan

Follow-up Post:

Oh, and Mike, those running boards I bought from ya a couple months back are goin on there as well. Can't wait for this thing to come together.

Hey Ryan, did you get a chance to install those 5-bar wing tops while you were home or are they going on the 110?

BEIS
January 30th, 2009, 08:39 PM
Andrew, those wing top protectors I bought from ya a while back are goin on too...almost forgot that. Just going to wait until the whole thing is painted black before we start puttin them on. Should give it a great final touch don't ya think?

Ryan

I have to bill you for 20 cut off discs. (just kidding of course). Overall most parts have come off like she has been built sometime in the last 20 years.

The rear floor was the worse part. Every damn bolt was a rusted bit of crap. Here is last nights work.

Are you sticking with the LT95 or upgrading to an LT77s or 380 and 230 combo ?

Stephen,

The progress looks great. Sorry to hear about all the rust gettin in the way....but then again, we expected it. I guess she didn't let us down hah. Back and settled down again in Iraq, so if there's anything you need to hit me up about- you got my AKO email. Keep those pics comin! I already showed the guys in my platoon the tear-down pics and they're even stoked about it. Hope all's well!

The 3.5 has a Edlebrock 4 bbl and intake. Was on the truck when it was dropped off. The last one of those I purchased came from Summit racing at under $500.00 but it has been awhile. All we did to the engine as new seals, later (no points) dizzy and bosch coil and wiring.

Stephen,

In that first picture with the headlights on, it looks like you had the running lights and turn signals reversed...

Great looking truck

Scott

Might have been a mistake (opinions welcomed)

That was done on purpose to make them more visible. Have added wing side markers (TD5 style) and the ones in the ARB for turn. I have 4 lights on each wing somewhat of an overkill but was looking at the most visibility for each light. It seemed with the turn indicators on the higher lights they were easier to see as the ARB blocks the lower one somewhat.

Most of all I like the hood basket... knowing the fact it was hand carried by me from places un-mentioned makes it even better!

Where have I seen another one?? Enjoy the 110 my friend... and some time off too.

"It is grey. Looks like bonati [sic?]."

Your correct... it is just that. Was a stock Black 95, that went to the paint shop and received an excellent full painting of the stock LR color... When I saw it I had to have it... no kidding, any and all others I was looking at back then dropped from my mind. Bought it that same day. Inside, under the hood, bulkhead, doors, ... sills... everything is nicely and functionally 100% Rhino lined in black to off set the grey. I have had several offers on it and keep smiling when I say NO thank you... well, except for when I look at the three constant drips under it. (at least I know the oil isnt empty yet!!)

Thanks for the nice comments.... I drive it as much as I can when I'm back in the US...
