Heater Cables Sticking

My heater blower lever sticks, and am assuming that it is the cable that is sticking. Is there a way to lubricate them?...Same problem but not as bad with the control lever that regulates if the air comes out the top vents or the bottom vents.

I had similar problem. I took the dashpanels off that covered the different levers/cables and then used a lubricant (spray can with "straw" attachment). A quick squirt, then worked the lever a bit until its movement was tolerable.
