I was playing in the water this weekend and now my winch won't work, just a click like the sound of a solenoid click.I have a super-winch S9000,which was used to recover a disco this weekend.I did submerge the winch for about 5 minutes at a water crossing. Hope it's not the motor?

You may have to open it up and see what creatures are in it.

If I were to bet, ITS THE MOTOR!!! I did the same thing (submerged the winch and then only a clicking sound) a couple of months back and it was the motor. I'm now in the market for a new one.
PS. Check out Durango 4X4. They have the best prices that I have found. Let me know if you find better prices elsewhere.

I had trouble with my Warn last summer. When the winch got nice and warm from use (not hot) it would stop winding in and all it would do is click.
After cooling off some it would work again. It turned out to be one of the two in solenoids. It has two in solenoids and two outs. ( Warn XD 9000i )
Does anyone know how to test a 12 volt solenoid to see if it is working?
