Out of a Defender with ~29K miles on it.

Asking $3000 or resonable best offer.

Comes with large Jeremy Fearns intercooler (raises HP to 145 HP, and torque to 250 lb-ft)
This is a $1300 option for this motor... included free with this engine...

NOTES:
R380 in photo is spoken for and not included with the engine.
The intercooler for this engine is large, and will require some refitting of the horns (the audio ones, not the frame horns) to make room for it.
The engine does not come with a fan - the original kenlowe that came with it is now used in my truck, so you can either put an original crank fan on it, or get yourself a new kenlowe (highly recommended!)

If you decide to split up some stuff I would be interested in the inter-cooler.

Does it include crossmember, any plumbing, engine harness, exhaust, etc?No, just the engine, intercooler, coolant pipes, radiator, fuel pump, filters, and anything else seen in the pictures..

Follow-up Post:

Ya, it came out of a challenge truck, so it's a tad muddy... I can get it steam cleaned if you like?

Like all second hand engines, they need work. I didn't advertise it as reconditioned or refurbished. The buyer will probably want to put a new turbo on it, and possibly some new pieces here and there. When I buy a used motor, I assume I'm going to do the gaskets at the very minimum. With Diesels, I assume a new Turbo too.

It is only for sale due to my own ignorance... I wanted to put a better engine in my 1968 Series 2A Dormobile... went looking and through research figured out that I was after a 300 tdi, so I made some calls to some business associates and had one delivered with a transmission and transfer case.

My mistake was that I didn't know that to retrofit the 300tdi into a series truck that I would have to move the grille panel out level with the front wings, replace the original wings with Series 3 wings, and use a Defender grille and grille panel. That killed the 300tdi as an engine for me, as I really love the look of this old girl, and to do that to her would be an injustice. The original motor was gone from this truck when I bought it, so I didn't have any qualms about originality for the engine, but there's no way I am going to ruin the external look of the truck.

That mistake is someone else's gain.

I'm currently in negotiations for having another engine and drivetrain delivered from the UK - a low mileage 200tdi with a tranny and transfer case. That one fits my series truck with no issues, and I get to retain the original look of the truck..

(As an aside, my wife wants me to put an autobox in the Dormie - I won't repeat how that conversation went...)

It is always an option to use this in my Defender, and I would have no problems doing that - but the Defender doesn't NEED an engine right now. My Dormie DOES. So this engine has to go to fund my 200 tdi.

I am interested in the Jeremy Fearns intercooler.
If you break it up and Mike C doesn't jump on it.

Make sure the 200 you get is out of a Defender instead of a Disco...the Disco 200's turbo is in the way of the steering box on a Series, and to put it in a Defender requires you to make a two piece steering shaft with a pillow block bearing to go around the turbo. And of course, the manifolds for a defender 200 are NLA, so unless you can find some second hand in the UK, you can't go that route.

Unless the Dormobile is RHD, then I just wasted a bunch of typing....
