What's In Your Tool Kit?

I am putting together a tool kit to take with me while off roading. I am wondering what you have in your tool kits.

I keep a full set of wrenches and sockets both metric and standard. I also have a breaker bar that I can slip my highlift handle over for extra leverage.

#4 would be 2 Heavy Duty ratchet straps. The BIG yellow 5000lb ones. I used them once to hold the front end down when I broke both front shocks.

I keep most of the tools mentioned but I also keep a spare drive shaft, CV's, winch kit, grease, gear oil and oil.

All the above plus spare fuses, relays, and bulbs. An OBD2 scanner (for '97s). And if all else fails a 5 lbs hammer.

Socket set (metric, SAE, deep sockets all on 3 pop-on strips)
Ratchet wrenches (3/4 drive)
Metric and SAE spanners in cloth roll
Breaker bar
Torx Bit set
Klien Tool 10 in 0ne driver (phillips, flat, allen)
Pry bar (huge Craftsman square shank flat-head)
Channel lock pliers
Needle nose plier set (nifty crafstman set in a soft case)
Vise-Grips pliers (large mouth)
Volt Meter
Assorted wire and connectors
Assorted bolts, washers and nuts
Zip ties and some small bungee cords

All this fits neatly in a three compartment US Army tank mechanics ballistic nylon bag (think miniature duffle bag). Weighs in at less than 40 lbs. I only carry what I might need so I leave the 1/2" ratchet and sockets at home with the torque wrench, drill, spring compressors and impact wrench.

I also bring my Warn winch bag with chain, gloves, snatch block and tree strap, and another similar bag containing first aid kit, bottled water, spare batteries, rope, funnel for oil and small funnel for ATF.

These three bags (green - tools, red - Warn, and blue - misc.) pretty much stay in the garage on the bench when I'm not loaded for a camping trip/wheeling trip in the 90. She's not my daily driver so I don't keep the tub loaded with all this stuff.

Oh, don't forget a AAA card and cell phone...

Don't forget brake fluid! When your flex line brakes on a rock or something and you pump out all your fluid on the next steep down hill you will be glad you have an extra quart!

powder coating oven
Pneumatic Bender
Shark repellent
Generator
Extra wife (in case the original gets bitchy)

Dude, the CrewCab has *never* been in the 'shop'. Hehe.

It has however, had it's share of 'fine tuning' in my driveway. And whose a chump?

Driveway, BCB, the Utah desert! It's all a shop for the 145! :grin Frankly, I'm surprised you can even diagnose running issues with that thing seeing how you need industrial ear protection just when driving!

As for the "Chump" innuendo, I got that information by reading it on someones quote! I think it was Yousef.;)
