Hello all, newbie here looking for first D90.

First question, what do you think a fair price for a 94 D90 with 50k miles is? Borla exhaust, ac and new tires. Very good shape in, out and mechanically?

Second question, what areas should I be concerned about other than rust? I am pretty comfortable with going thru all the nooks and cranny's. Is engine compression testing considered a normal thing to do for these types of vehicles. With my 87 Porsche I bought it's a definite to have a mechanic check the car over thoroughly including a leakdown and compression.

TIA - Michael

Mike,
I would definetely check it throroughly. Don't take it to the local Stealer though. Joe Procopio (sp) out north on Market behind Smithfields barbeque is an awesome dude and would do a great check for you. He is an X-dealer mechanic with about 20 yrs of experience, and values his Defender/Series customers highly. I have not had any work from him as I twist my own bolts, but if I ever needed it, I would take it to him. Is this a local truck? There are a surprising number of 90's here in wilmy-wood.

Jeff:

I know Joe very well and have had a couple of cars serviced by him. Unfortunately the car I'm interested are in Charleston and Columbia. I may go by Joe's and ask him what to look for.

What are you driving. I surf WB pretty often. Is'nt a black D90 that's outside Clarence Fosters is it?

Is the D-90 in Charleston at the local dealership? They have a limited edition willow green one. It has over 100,000 miles. The lady that owned it put 12,000 in repairs in it over the years. She bought a white SW that had 40,000 miles.
