Need advice on storing D90

It looks like I might be out of the country for an extended period of time. What should I do to my truck to prepare for several months of non-use?

Change fluids, put fluid stabilizer in the gas and disconnect the battery.

Phil, I've left other vehicles for over 6 months simply by making sure all the fluids and gas tank were filled and disconnecting the battery. Tires will develop a flat spot from sitting all that while, but it goes away fairly quickly once you start driving again. You could put it on stands, but I don't think that (or other extensive prep) is necessary. I've also heard conflicting advice on whether you should have someone start it periodically, and just letting it sit never seemed to hurt anything on my other vehicle.

Other than disconnecting the battery, I've never done any other prep when leaving mine for 6 months plus. Had no problems so far...

On other vehicles that are carbureted I have heard of people pooring a little ATF into the carburetor while it is running. The idea was to lube up the cylinder walls well during storage. Of course you have a fuel injected engine so this may not be possible. I have also been told that after an engine has set for an extended period that it can be a good idea to pull the plugs and put some ATF into each plug hole before starting. Same basic idea. If it were me I would not do these things unless I were to be away from it for years.

Might want to contact your favorite professional mechanic.
