Hey, do any of you guys throw a dutchie in the Rover when you head out for some camping?

A buddy and I got interested in this last fall. We've had a good time learning the basics, trying new recipes. Well, a big spring storm hit friday and we lost power that afternoon. A perfect opportunity to try a couple new recipes. So I yanked the grate out of the fireplace and went to work. Friday night was blueberry/cream cheese cobbler. Saturday I moved snow all day. Sunday I rallied with a Cuban Zarzuela and rum raisin bread pudding. I haven't put a dutchie in the Rover yet, but one is going in soon. I can't wait to get up in the hills and create some good grub!

Cheers

Anyone who throws any other kinds of dutchies in the Rover when they go out camping, please don't mention it here!

And here I was hoping for a discussion of the finer points of how some of you torment your significant others...what a let down...

I sometimes let my wife enjoy the finer aromas of the dutch oven when we are in bed. :lol

There is a good thread on Dutch ovens over on Dweb. The Jambalaya one is outstanding; the lasagna was good too! There are some good recipes over there.

Neil (Steinhammer here) makes an excellent dump cake in a dutch oven.

The Chicago Land Rover Club has several members who frequently fire up the Dutch Oven during our winter and early spring trail rides. I haven't done it myself. But it seems like a good thing to master for those colder rides.

This is me on 4th of July last year. I like to grill steaks, brautwurts n veggies. I usually never have enough food for all the people that keep trying to score food off me. Funny thing about this setup is you get tons of people comming over to comment or compliment. But I'll never forget this one chick who I later went on like 1 date who turned out to be a crazy stalker. Man that was scary. Anyway good for getting hungry fat chicks :D
