convert it to sae and use 1/4 inch for the thickness.

Well i'm trying to use some specific end caps that are sized for mm material.

Holy Crap! Sounds like those end caps aren't so special now, are they? What type of cap are they, can you post a pic?

What's the advantage of add on caps, as opposed to forming over the end of the slider and welding it closed?
