Most mileage on one tank?

Today I set a personal record of 236 miles with a gallon left in the tank. I was glad when I arrived at a gas station though. Just wondering what some other folks have managed with their much loved gas chugging Defenders?

I did near 250 once, 95 north through New Jersey doing 75mph. Note this was coming back from MAR covered in Aerodynamic mud

My record is 164 miles.I dream of 200+ miles per tank. TDi is in the garage waiting for time to install and then I can quit buying gas every 2 hours.

I think I did almost two miles one time. The MoD definitely wasn't concerned about range were they. All those supply trucks were too readily at hand. No big war experience with Defenders either. If they had invented the 4x4 car rather than the tank we'd surely have better range.

I've done 350 miles, but then again I have two tanks....400 oughta be possible. wind behind. To think a disco 200 diesel will easily do 600 miles on its standard tank! must be some TDi Defender owners who can boast some impressive totals. Did you see Smart is going to sell the diesel fourtwo in canada - 3.5 litres per hundred kms.....80 mpg imperial?

210 for our V8 was the best we have done.

230 and I could have gone another 13 or so miles. I still had to remove part of the seat bottom from my butt cheeks. I knew I was going to be pushing my D-90 while my 12 year old steered

287 at 75mph. Granted that was on the back of a rollback. Normaly 230.

Ummm, around 800 miles :cool:
But then I've got twin tanks, 140 litres and a 200 tdi.
I just love pulling into a petrol station on empty, filling both tanks and producing a 4p off per litre voucher :sneaky
