realy looking to put a 5.4 litter vortech with 700r and an atlas in my 94. not looking piss anyone off but i want an auto trans the vortech motor is a great motor and the atlas with 2 sticks would
be great.(to unlock the front and run in 2 wd)
not saying it would be better than a 4.6 rover just diff
has anyone done this. moaboutpost in moab would do the install and the cost is realy pretty cheap compared to a 4.6 shortblock conversion.

Don't know of any 5.4 liters done but there are a few 700R4s/Atlas or turbo 400/Atlas combos behind a rover motor. I agree, different and cool but that is a ton of cash and work to be able to run in 2WD.

Sounds like a cool idea and as I know the combination has been used in other applications at least the adapters are all available. Getting it to all fit and having the right spring rates, etc. may be a pain, but you'd have bragging rights.
I'd post this on pirate4x4.com as you'll probably get more information there.
