Hey guys,

I think I have an easy question for you but who knows...

About 2 weekends ago I did a 'coolant flush' and when I turned the beast back on the 'temperature gauge' didn't work...
Hmm...
Thermostat ?
If so, an easy install ?
(I had a Jeep a while back that wasn't too bad... just wondering)

I'm learning as I go... (as things go wrong with the Defender..)
so, any help is appreciated.

OH, and thanks to all who helped on my GPS search on Friday.
That Garmin 60C is killer...

Thanks

Second post i missed what the heck? I think there are 2 wires on the housing to the T-stat and they connect to the sender unit you probably forgot to reconnect them.

Mike,

Hey man, I appreciate it.

Yes I reconnected it. both ways as a matter of fact so that might be my problem. Maybe I blew something...

I don't know... I need to get in there and fix it but I don't know if I should start with the Thermostat or the actual temp gauge...

I don't think it matters which way you connect it as its just a resistor. You may want to check the plugs , they get old wet dirty and stop making a good connection. The gouges are crap also, I put an auto meter gauge in place of my old one even though the old one still works. Believe it or not but you don't have to change out the sensor unit, When I bought the gauge i pulled the old sensor and tested side by side with the new one then swapped the old sensor onto the new meter and it read exactly the same, I even varied the temperature of the water it was in.

Once again, Thanks.

At least I have a starting point now... Will check this weekend.

For now, I'll check on those other gauges.
