Hi All

I've been offered a NAS D90 SD roof basket (basket only) in exchange for my interior rollbar. I might have a use for the basket but my truck is a UK model without the rollcage so I would have to fab up some mounting feet. Alternatively I could sell it and perhaps find a wider audience interested in the basket than the rollbar. I've seen the roof baskets offered here for $850-895 but no clear evidence that anyone has actually sold one. So some post-sale data on that would be useful. Has anyone tried to use the SD basket by adapting it to a gutter-mount system?
Also what is the diameter of the tubing used to make the baskets?

thx

Dave you could sell the SD basket and get one of those G4 style baskets. I think those mounted to the gutter.

The SD used 1/2 tubing and ideally you could mount it to the gutter I would think because I think they are the same width as the top and should be a straight shot down for the gutter. I could take photos of mine tonight for more reference.

my bad, I think its 1inch. I got some clamps for it and im trying to remember what size there were. 1/2 inch seems way to small. someone will pipe up with the right diameter.

Or you could get some Thule or Yakima bars and mount the basket to that....

Dave,

Get the rack and sell it off to fund another type of rack.

Or give it to me,

Scott

For what its worth I paid $600 for a SD basket from a board member here.

Dave- pretty sure you could easily adapt it to mount to your gutters with something like the feet on my fatory rack which would be easy to copy and some of those cool billet bar/pipe clamps
