I have been holding on to my stock alternator core for about 8 months. I'm planning to trash it or service it. Can anyone verify if the original part can be serviced? Where do i send it? Cost?

Thanks!

I am pretty sure that you can take any alternator to an alternator shop and have it rewound or the diods replaced.

Edit original post: alternator is 100 AMP (always get twitchy and want to type "110")

Thanks Scott. Anyone have a shop they have used in the LA area? OR somewhere i can ship it to?

I rebuilt my 97 alt for less that twenty bucs. New bearings and rectifier bridge and I was good to go. The parts are available at any auto electric shop. Even if you have them do the rebuild it should be cheaper than a new one.
