So new theory about the banging and grinding. typicaly what happens when the CVs go bad? Sounds and what not? I haven't yet opened the T-case.

Typically they make noise when turning at the frequency of the wheel rotation.

Tyler check all your fluids, chances are the Cats are on their way out and they are rattling apart.

Hmm... Never thought of that. Wouldn't suprise me with all the fuel that's gone through them. Downside aren't they expensive to replace?

Replace! What are you crazy? When one of mine started ratteling it lasted a week or two, after a while all the broken parts somehow managed to find there way out of the system. No emissions tests up here in NH so I don't worry about it.

Have them down here though and think mines do this year.

I know some people in Mass can get away without having there car tested by going to a shop that only has a 2 wheel roller so their all wheel drive car cannot be tested. just a thought until the price of cats comes into a more reasonable range.

The places around me don't have the treadmill. So it'll get the probe up the pipe.

Denatured Alcohol....Mix that up with a little fuel and go through emissions. It's great when the guys can't figure out why the emissions readings are so low :grin (Disclamer: Do this at your own risk).

Or just cut a piece of cardboard half the size of your radiator, paint it black and stick it in front of your radiator about a mile away from the emmissions place. Get that bad boy up to 250 and you will pass every time. I have used this many a time.

Did you check to see if you have oil in the swivels like I suggested?
How about draining and refilling the diffs to check for peices?
