I need the above bolts for the ring gear and I cannot locate them anywhere. They are for Ashcroft 4:10 R & Ps and I'd prefer to have a USA source for speed and availabilty.
Anyone know who might have them?

Did you try McMaster Carr?

Thanks...

I checked them all including Ashcroft and Randy's R & P. Nobody has the %$#% things. It doesn't appear as though Ashcroft made this R & P so now I'm trying Kam in the UK.
A friend may be able to make them on a CNC machine after he writes the program, however.

Are you sure they are 9mm x1.25? That is a very wierd size. Maybe 3/8-20....which I think is a B.S. size, which would make much more sense. IMHO making bolts with a lathe or CNC machine may be a bad idea as they won't be hardened and cut threads are not as strong as rolled threads.

Hello Rob.....

Yes, they have been measured by both the mechanic and the local bolt/nuts supply house.
Evidently, Ashcroft used this size at one time but discontinued them according to George at RDS. Ashcroft says they only used 10mm and 3/8ths unp.
I'm stumped and a bit frustrated. Can't tap the R & P - flame hardened and can't get the bolts.
Emailed Kam Diffs too but have not heard back from them.
I appreciate your comments on cut bolts - I didn't know that.
What else would you do?

Clark

Here's a neat web site...http://www.britishfasteners.com/threads/bsf.html
I'll see if I can find 9mm

Clark, man, you always have the wierdest shit go wrong... I searched all around and the only reference I came across was that Alpha Romeos use 9mm driveshaft bolts. You might try searching some Alpha forums or specialty companies. I, personally, would buy a R&P set from GBR that I could actually get bolts to fit. That would be the simplest, most direct fix.

ARP should be able to make them if they don't have them. My 3 liter head bolts were 11mm... Can't find that size anywhere...

Just phone em up...tell them what you need.

Turns out that they aren't 9mm x 1.25 x 30mm. They are 3/8ths BSF (or 3/8ths x 20 x 1 1/4). Makes more sense and they are nearly identical.
With the help of Roadside Rob and Bill Davis we finally figured it out and I decided to take their advice and get a new R & P (4:14 from GBR).
Thanks for everyone's help.

Glad you got it worked out.
