Just wondering what the going rate for a solid good/okay condition series 2 or 3 88in would go for, with a little rust in usual places, just trying to see if i can get a solid everyday runner at a decent price? (Im really hoping for about 5 to 6k)

I know of a really nice fire engine 109 at 4k if you are interested.

5-6k will get you what you want, but it will be fairly unattractive.

John, I've got a 72 series III for sale that might meet your needs. It's in great shape with no chassis rust and very minimal surface rust in the inside corners of the footwells and door edges. I'm pretty close to your price range as well. However, it's in Denver, Colorado.
Have a look in the classifieds.

I've seen a couple of trucks for sale in VT for decent prices recently, on the RN Board I think.

They're basically the same, as long as you consider the absence of synchomesh, leaf springs, and no full time 4wd to be minor differences.

That and the lack of any sound insulation whatsoever,no radio, no AC, no power steering or brakes and less than half the horsepower.

Well none of that has stopped you.

I was simply pointing out the differences since you did not seem to be aware of them.

Mine actually has a coil suspension, power steering, power 4 wheel disc brakes, and a turbo diesel roughly between 200 and 300Tdi power.
