OK quick question, I ended up with an extra NAS D90 chassis in the course of the project I am working on. I was thinking of saving it and doing a Series coiler hybrid truck build but dont really have the time these days so I am wondering- a new one from RN is $3300- what's a rust free, sandblasted and dipped Defender frame worth? AND know anyone who is looking for one? THANKS

As a data point, a mint non-galvanized one ECR had sold for $770 on ebay.

I like the data point term. So my two data points so far are that ECR left over unit @$770 and a new RN unit @$3000. Those two average out to right around $2k, which is pretty close to what I was thinking although I came to that through a different path.

The hastle of blasting and galvanizing and the additional cost involved in the process works out to be right around 2k IMHO so I think that is fair.

Just FYI, that was the highest bid, but it didn't sell. I wouldn't let it go that cheap (but I guess that is the market for them, sadly)
I'm just keeping them all now and someday down the road it will sell for more, or I'll have them all galvanized and then sell them or something.

My bad Mike. I read you posted that it was the highest bid, I did not realize you had a reserve.

PS did you get my email this am?

I did. It was a hectic day (always is after a long weekend), didn't get to your email.
Short answer: Check: got it. Truck: Whatever, whenever
I'll answer the rest in the morning.

Joel- You can do a Series coiler if you use a 90 tub.

Frame had no rot on it, just typical light surface rust from sitting, so it was professionally sandblasted before going to the galvanizers where it got cleaned and dipped. Originally from a NAS spec '94, but I am pretty sure all the NAS 90 frames are the same. It was identical to the '97 frame that was done at the same time. V8 crossmember included.

I am really shocked nobody has bought this yet... All the 90's out there that are rusting away, you would think someone would have pulled the trigger.
