For sale: Mercedes 3.0L 5 cylinder diesel N/A with seriestrek adapter plate, series gearbox and transfer case, front and rear axles (rear is salisbury) from my 109 SW.
$2k local pickup only Atlanta area.
Will sell as rolling chassis for $3K

Are you refering to the picture on the hoist? Yes, probably not the best selection at the time but what's done is done.

Yes chain on engine in picture. Bad idea. Get them out of the garage. Trailer safety chain is better then that if you are in a rush. With built in hooks. That engine in particular is very heavy.

Any idea of milage on motor/rebuild/etc?? What are you switching to?

I have had the engine for almost 20 years, it came from a 1979 300TD wagon I drove for decades. The engine has about 185K on it. The body rotted out and I kept the engine because it is a good one. It has not been rebuilt but was a good runner when I pulled it. It has been stored properly and I expect it will start and run with no issues.
I am going for a 3.9 V8/ZF/LT230, I was originally going to use the diesel for biodiesel or WVO but I like many other Americans am a sucker for horsepower. With four rovers, three of them are V8s so why not make it four.
