Just wondering what cooling mods have any of the South West / dessert rat's done to keep things cool in the midday heat? I just got back from at trip out in the Dale Mining District this last weekend. Altho I did not overheat, I certainly was running a lot hotter than usual.
I read the FAQ section already, it's just that most of that info is almost four years old. I'm just inquiring of any new thoughts on the matter.
thanks,

I don't think anyone got a pic without the hood, well maybe a trucker on RT 87.
As far as cooling goes, I have heard of cutting out the fender wells, removing the AC wich is not an option for those out west, and I have seen these round hood fans in the Land Rover mags but I don't know how well they work.

Has any one here done the hood holes? Is it worth it? For me, it has to be a well justified mod before I start drilling into sheet Mtl. I spent many a hour in years past correcting bad mods when I was into restoring classic VW's.

Speaking of Hood holes, did anyone get a picture of the 90 at MAR with the Bling Bling hood vents. I think it was red and the vent were all cromed out. I know Ken and Dave saw it when it drove by our camp but I just crawled out from under the 90 and did not have the camera in my greesy hands.

That was Ron, he lives down the street from me and I happened to see that bling the other night.
He has the "special" spare on the bonnet like Ken.
I'll take a pic of it when I get the chance.
