We recently replaced the ignition module on my 110 and now the oil light is flickering at idle- once you accelerate it goes away - doesn't appear to be losing any oil - pressure seems ok- temp is good - any help would be appreciated - thanks fb

FB,
If the gauge pressure is good, I'd replace the sending unit for the light. They can fail at higher mileages. The new parts are of an updated design. Last time I bought one they were about $10 at the dealer.

Frank, my light starts to flicker when I need an oil change, honestly when I get near 3k the light flickers and after I change the oil it stops.

thanks guys - i'll start with an oil change to 20/50 - that was recommended for a high mileage (120K) engine in the summer - then go from there - fb

Hibbert,

That is a sign of a leaky injector. Does the oil smell like gas?

Hmmm I don't rember it smelling like gas, what else would I look for if I had a leaky injector?

A non symetrical looking spark plug.

So I need to pull your plugs and check em.

no you need to pull your plugs and check em! I think that is the best way I could be wrong! Short of pulling your injectors & bench testing.

OK I'll pull my own pulgs:) . And I hope it's the best way as I don't have a bench to test my injectors on.

Either that or you have an oil leak and it take 3000 miles for it to get low (but I figured you checked oil level frequently enough).

Ron, you must have been reading my mind. It does eat/drip oil a little and i have noticed it takes about 3k to get down 1/2 a quart. Sometimes it goes faster if I do more highway driving. As soon as the light comes on I change the oil, one it normally takes about 4 months or 3k miles, and 2 I like to play it safe.
