Ok, it's not a Rover, but it sure would help the wallet on road trips and when the Rover is broken.
I'm looking for a 96/97 Passat Wagon TDi. they are about as easy to find as 110s it seems as these were the only two years they imported a TDi with the Passat Wagon (excepet for 2004 but I can't afford that).
So if you know anyone who knows someone who knows someone, I'd greatly appreciate it.
thanks

Peter,
Try www.vwvortex.com. They have a pretty good classifieds. Good luck, not too long ago, I was drooling for those as well. :)

Just filled up our TDI Jetta yesterday and noticed we got 502 miles on the last tank - you won't regret buying one :)

Thanks Glenn, I've been fishing there for a bit. tdiclub.com, ebay, cars.com, carpoint, autotrader, carfax. Any others I should be looking at?

Why not consider a Jetta wagon? I know its not a Passat, but its still a wagon, and with the diesel.

We thought of the Jetta wagon as there are more TDis available but the size is a bit smaller and I'm a little over 6'1". The Passats offer just a bit more room, especially leg room in the back seats.
As it is, I finally found one on the East coast and am working on getting it shipped/driven to the West coast.
thanks for all the pointers.

Where on the east coast? I bought a truck from NY upstate and there were definite rust problems with it. Just something you should make sure to check out.
I'm lead to wonder how many people have landrovers and vw diesels?

It spent 125K mile in FL and then 20K in GA, so rust is less likely.
I'm begining to wonder the same thing. :)
