4.0, AT, 159k miles, #2212, BFG KM2's with approx. 6k on them (255/85-16), Rock sliders with jack points, A/C works well, Pioneer stereo. Old man emu shocks/steering damper (and 1" lift springs I believe). Runs and drives great, it has been my daily driver since I purchased it in 8/08 with about 137k on the odometer. Truck was originally purchased in Maryland, I bought it out of New Jersey. Fluids (t-case, swivel balls, diffs, wheel bearings, etc..) were replaced in the last 3k miles. Recent VDO temp guage mod, new alternator, new plugs and wires. I had some missing issues and the alternator was the culprit!! (thanks Ron!) There is a little tick coming from the right engine bank when it is cold for a minute or two at startup, could be a lifter or an exhaust leak. Hasn't changed since I bought it and I have not tackled it yet. Also it has a small coolant leak from the front if the intake manifold, I add about a quart of coolant every couple months. It doesn't use any measureable amount of oil. There are a couple dings in the drivers door and a little rust in the common areas, bottom of the rear door is the worst spot by far, the pics will tell the story. Definitely well below average for a MN truck! I removed the door hinges when I bought it blasted them to bare metal, machined the hinge for a bronze bushing and primed/painted with some PPG products, there is a little rust bleed from behind the stainless screw heads but they look good really, the bushing seems to keep the paint from breaking where the hinges rub on each other, I should post a write up sometime in the small project forum... I machined some aluminum wing vent covers, I still have the originals if the future owner prefers. I also have a bolt on brush bar and headlight grills in really nice shape I just prefer the bare bumper lately (it gets less commonly confused as a jeep :) ) I know there are a lot of miles but this truck is tight and in great shape. The fact that it is daily driven instead of sitting in a shed I think is an advantage in a way. Needs nothing to drive cross country or wherever right now. PM or reply to this thread with questions.

If I had the cash in hand instead of a big International I'd be right there to buy it. :( Nice truck and seems like a good honest sale IE: Nice pics and details of the truck.

"Seems like a great deal " Gotta love the Defender world where a 160,000 mile truck is a great deal at $21,000! The same vintage RR or Disco would be worth $1500! OR less.
Good luck with the sale, it is a nice looking D90.

I mentioned the front brush bumper, here is a pic of it from a canoe/camping trip last summer. These pics also show the canoe rack I have for it if the buyer wants it.

Seems decent for a 1997 with minimal rust.

It is a nice truck. My point was only that the Defender world is a unique place where 160,000 mile and 12 year old trucks bring $21,000. it is great.

How true!! I remember when I sold my dII to a guy recently and he asked me why I was selling it. 03 with only 52k. I told him I didn't need two land rovers and just bought my 97 with 120k and like that so much more...I wish I took a picture of his face when I said that!

And, now a pic with the window tint... I have a friend that is trying to keep me from selling it I think. So he came over and put this tint on for me, did a really nice job too. It really changes the look of the truck.

Want an Audi allroad 2.7 twin turbo 6 speed in trade? How about a 1961 International all wheel drive beast of a truck with 8K original miles? :D
I have too much "inventory" right now or I'd be on a plane to come get this one....
Good luck with the sale, it looks like a nice driver. I really would love to have it.

This is B.S. this truck should have sold at $21k. There is like no rust on this truck, it should be sold by now. Someone should buy it. BUMP

To the owner... Try Discoweb.org, Landroverexchange.com, and E-bay. I have always had luck selling trucks there. I think the problem here is most of us own one, two or more already. If I didn't have two 90s I would have bout this in a heart beat for this price.. Good luck! :)

I also had the windshield replaced recently, along with the weather seal. The exhaust is Borla, muffler at least cat-back I believe, though I didn't buy it and since I didn't know for sure I didn't mention it.
I took a pretty major pay cut at work recently. My three main hobbies are MX racing, my CNC shop and this Rover. As things stand today I have to loose one. The CNC shop, though meager, is a source of income so selling off equipment doesn't make a lot of sense. My first love is MX and I just can't imagine going without but I am starting to think twice.

If this were anywhere other than the upper midwest (ie west coast, east coast, colorado etc.) it would have sold by now.

my favorite email was the one this morning.. after asking if it would fit in a 7' garage door, the next response was, "when you get around the $15k range, let me know. Extremely tough market out there."
I had to summon a breathe of restraint to keep from firing one back I would later regret.
Guys.. I think I am about done, the wife may have to bury me in this d-90. I am thinking of honoring my 3 year olds request, "don't sell the mountain car!"
Follow-up Post:
Just so it is clear, I don't NEED to sell this D90. At this point I'd just rather have the cash.
So consider the $17,900 a firm price.

Keep the truck if you dont need the cash. Wait another year,i don't think you want to take a dive. IDK why the market is so bad but my truck is sold for around this and the rust was way worse and it was a stick.

Hang on to it, don't give it away or as someone else recommended, try Ebay, though I would bring the price back up..... Good luck......

If someone looking for a nice daily driver would like to trade for prefferably an early 80's 110 or maybe a rough D-90 I would like to hear from you. Something without a drivetrain and a decent body would be perfect. Part of the reason I decided to try and sell it was that I had come to the conclusion this vehicle was still far too nice to start gutting. But with current market demand perhaps I am wrong.
