Just a feeler for the interest.

One very interested party on my D90, would like to buy the D90 ( pending his CU approval ) without the roof rack.
Obviously a part of the price will be affected by this.

Any interested parties in obtaining this rack?

SW compatible??

John,

I am not sure, maybe Jonathan can chime in.

I don't see why not as the crossbar will be the same, the ladder bolts to crossmember on one side and tire carrier bolt on the other.

But I will double check with him

Thanks

The SD rack works on both. I think this was designed with the same intentions.

I know what they go for new, but what would you be asking for a quick cash sale?

Bennett,

All I want to know , is a feel for what people would pay for a 2 month old rack.

Enlight me and tell me , what would bit e worth to you?

( as for the quick sale, will be all depending on the interested party getting the finances staright out )

Thanks

I have not had a chance to test the fit on SWs. To mount Gustavo's rack on a SW you would at least need the top spare tire pivot bracket from a ST as that is where mine mount on SWs. If you are local to DC, I can modify the rack to work and test the fit.

I will have a SW at my shop in the coming month for a rack, so I can test the fit and design a mounting system for them.

looks like the rigth rear attaches to ST swing out rear tire carrier, SW doesnt have one (tire mount is on rear door). A SW Wolf rack model should have a right side that attaches to rear cross member as the left does?

Or perhaps 2 more cross bars but that are gutter mounted and a detachable ladder would do the trick...
(do you make a detachable gutter mount crossbar to match the bar mounted ones?)

My SW ladder will likely mount to the stock rear bumper on both sides using the same C&C machine clamps that mount to the roll cage.

ahhhh...but who keeps the stock bumper?

If I had to guess, probably 90-95% of the D90 owners have stock bumpers. Usually only the hard core guys take theirs off. I make body mounted ladders, but I am finding everyone that wants my racks like the fact that they don't have to drill into the body.

We are hijacking Gustavo's thread.

Anyone need a used Wolf rack?

Would respectfully disagree and go on to state that your likely customers are EXACTLY the ones that modify and add to their trucks beginning with the rear stock bumper.

Will stop hijacking thread.

I need a used Wolf rack but only if I can attach it to my SW with a Rockware bumper :)

Don't forget, to mount a stock rack to a wagon, you have 6 holes to drill where the top mount of the swing away is on the s/t, while the s/t adds 2 additional holes... Good luck with the sale, and congrats on the 90!!

Would having a ShrockWorks tire carrier affect the installation?

Rugbier
November 2nd, 2009, 08:52 PM
Dale,
Yes I believe only 2 holes in the cross member section and a new longer bolt carrier ( included ) goes on the spare tire attachement.
Thank you for the input and the wishes

Glenn, not familiar with your spare tire, but if it mounts in the same way as the Factory, should be no problem
Thank you for the interest

I have a template for the backing plate for a factory rack, but you can also just trace the outter piece, and add captive (welded) nuts. Point being, all trucks w/ factory racks had extra holes drilled, so this shouldn't be an issue for your rack- s/t or h/t, for potential buyers.

Yes, it's a huge issue. My racks are only compatible with STs at this time because that is what I build them on. My right side ladder mounts to the top of the ST spare tire carrier bracket - not the body.

This rack is not compatible with SWs, and will not be without some modifications to the ladder.

I have two SWs coming to my shop in the next month, so then I will be able to get the specs on making racks for SWs.

Gotcha, sorry- just trying to help. It still amazes me the whole deal with drilling holes for a factory rack- it was by design. Nice yours doesn't, except of course the wagon issue. Good luck w/ wagon update.

A set of Boost wheels will require an additional cost of $ 5,000, as I will have to source them out through BJF, and you know how UNIQUE his products are *LOL*

Jonathan, I can imagine , specially with the x-mas, chanukka, kuanza, Festivus *LOL* around, I will end up either giving it away for less or keep it in the side ( maybe the Farm ) until a friend needs one and wants to save a boatload of dollars.

The only thing I thought it was going to make it appealing is the price, which almost 60% of the new one

send me some pic of the New baby UNGAYED *LOL*

Josh, are you adding a roof rack to your horse? It will compliment your boost wheels.

Tebby, I will take the $50... I am planning on being Guestavo's agent for all things LR.

sorry scott..not gonna pay you the $50..but hope the rack works out for you. Definitely an unbeatable price....just doesn't make sense...even though I REALLY want it....the wife not so much. It would be one of those "In her back pocket deals" if you know what I mean. I really feel awful Gustavo...I had to offer you something since I backed out. I've had several guys on here back out on me...and I just thought it was the stand up thing to do. Good luck and thanks for being cool about the whole deal!!! justin

NOTE: Josh...you would've had the rack had you bought Gustavos truck like you should've!

you need one of those carriage's behind the horse. Wait since you have a horse I guess this is the perfect truck for you. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Land-Rover-Defender_W0QQitemZ190354198888QQcmdZViewItemQQptZU S_Cars_Trucks?hash=item2c51fe9168
You can pull it behind your horse through central park.

Horsey Boy, does Smores the Pony have enough horse power to pull that thing?

bjf
December 7th, 2009, 07:50 PM
well horsey since the rack is sold I am taking this thread to a new level. Seriously though, you put a rack on that horse and I am calling the ASPCA. No way Smore's can handle the weight of you and a rack.
