Turn signal in the bumper!

Is there a way to change the turn signal on a d110 from the bumper to the ones by the head lights?!?!?

Yes, there is a way.
I don't know how to do it myself, but I do know that East Coast Rover (http://www.eastcoastrover.com/) used to sell a kit that made it possible.

Can't you just cut the wires from the bumper turn signal and run them to one of the marker bulbs, change the marker bulb to a differnt wattage (it's listed here someplace Tyler just did it) and presto your done?

I did the following on my '94.
1. snip the wire to the lower bezel leaving a decent tail from the bezel.
2. snip the wire to the blinker.
3. hook up the blinker wire from harness to the bezel tail
4. go to <local auto parts store> and get a 105 bulb.
5. insert said bulb, and bobs your uncle, fannys your aunt...

Thats what I did on our '94 but still have to replace the bulb with the proper one. BTW I went to the top bulb. When I rewired mine, they were caked with mud. (I'm sure it was because of the previous owner. :=) I didn't snip any wires, instead, I pulled the bullet connectors from the lucar connector, cleaned the connections, and reassembled. Figured that's a better way until the next time I need to change something out. A neighbor has a sandblaster and he cleaned all the connections on the bulb assembly too!

If you want to directly wire them, I'd suggest soldering and shrinkwrapping to protect against that nasty mud. (always thinking about the next owner, which will be a LONG time from now, I hope)

I am not sure what you are talking about? I do not want to snip wires. I am trying to figure a least invasive methed. The bulb # is great!

Email me if anything doesn't make sense. If you take these to the truck with you, it'll be a little more clear. I'd also be prepared with some stuff to clean the corrosion off of all the connectors and perhaps some dialectric grease when you put it all together again.

I saw this thread a while back, and I've been meaning to ask: What's the reason for changing the front turn signals from the bumper to the marker lights? Is it only for aesthetics or is there some functional reason? Thanks.

Ryan, a lot of people that replace their stock bumpers to aftermarket ones (i.e. Safarigard) that don't have a place for a turn signal are usually the ones doing this method. Not that you can't do it with stock of course, but then that would just be for aesthetic reasons.

Ok, now I understand. I've got an ARB so the turn signals are in the bumper. But I'd like to get a Rockware so I'll need to remember this thread when I do that. Thanks Glenn.

So I need to bring this thread up again... I followed the instructions for the lower light (plugging it into the wire feed that originally went to the bumper lights). The turn signal works fine, but that's it! When I turn the lights on the newly created directional isn't lit. I thought the lower light should light up then blink with the directional on.

I'm using the 105 bulb... Picked it up from Napa. Any ideas???

Nope. That lower light should stay off untill you use the turn signal.

Nope, the light only works like a blinker in this configuration, it will not come on when the other lights are on.

I belive there is a kit to turn that light into a duel action signal. ?! Rovers north? It would be a new socket & you would be good to go

Well it's not to hard to do yourself using a dual filiment bulb and a new bulb socket, you should be able to get both at the auto parts store.
