Where to buy suspension bushing kit

I have read through the archives and see the opinions on poly and OEM bushings. I am not quite sure which direction I am going to go yet but can anyone recommend a vendor who stocks poly or OEM kits? I want to do the full thing so I am looking for a complete kit.

If you are looking for a poly bush and want to keep the feel of the stock rubber bushings then you might want to consider the Orange polybushes.

Rovers North has both sets. You'll have to speak with them about putting the OEM bushings into a set and possibly working with you on a price though...

No, they don't carry the polybrush brand. They carry Iron Man Suspension in a kit.

I'd do a search on the forum for Iron Man. It's relatively new and hard to tell if the high price equates to good quality as well. Best I can tell, it's the only Iron man product delear in the US for LR's

I bought the ironman bush kit from RN. Do yourself a favor, and don't buy it. These things are the biggest PITA to install. I got about half the bushings in, and went to 3 different shops to try to get the rest in, of which none could get them to go in. I ended up buying OEM for what I couldn't get installed. OEM went in no problem. Just my $.02.

Chris, if you buy the Polybush brand they come in two pieces and don't need to be pressed in.

Agree with Ron & Chris. Every poly bush I've ever used breaks early. They're made for high stress and short life.

Wicks, have you ever used the Polybush brand? I heard Iron Man aren't that good. I had the IM on my CJ and replaced with stock rubber 'cause they were too hard.

I had Iron man bushings on an old RRC. Bag of knackers. The panhard bushes used to average 3 months. Also over here lots of people have had problems with polys wearing the mounts out, therfore damaging your chassis.
I think they bind the truck up too much, ok if all you do is street it. I stick with genuine rubber twin shell. They last well & flex the most.

Being the kind of person that doesnt listen to advice or learn from others, I'm going to try a set of blue Polybush brand bushings. They are supposed to be stock density. I'll let you all know if they suck.

Jim, the orange Polybush are the ones closest to stock density, not the blues or red.

I have had 10-12 early bronco's over the years and always used Poly bushings with great results. I started this thread almost positive that i was going with poly bushings as a result, regardless of what people said just because I have not heard any serious empiracle data of why the poly bushings were not good. The durometer rating on the material, chemical resistance etc seemed much better.

Having said that, in addition to this thread and other research, I found this site, http://www.landroverstuff.com/scrover.htm and am now pretty well convinced I am going to replace with rubber.

Seems like the function of the Defender suspension is beyond the limits of a poly bushing as near as I can tell. I see no other reason why they shouldn't otherwise be better.

BTW, the red Polybush polyurethane bushes are rated at 85% (hard), the blues are 75% (soft, like stock) and the oranges are 75% (mild). Any of the Polybush bushings will last 3 to 4 times longer than regular stock bushings.

One thing the folks at Scorpion Racing recommend is if you plan on burning out your old bushings do not install the new ones while the metal is hot, it will screw up the new bushing.
