Pulling out the A/C

I am getting ready to pull out the rest of the A/C in the passenger compartment. I bled the system of all the refrigerant and the yellow goop that comes with it (I am guessing the compressor oil). Now the only problem I have is where do the pipes that run to the compressor disconnect?

I see all sorts of tubing exiting through the firewall and I wrenched on several "promising" unions in the engine compartment to no avail. Since I am planning on putting the A/C back in once the rest of my interior project is complete I don't want the answer of "more beer and longer wrench/hacksaw". In other words I don't want to ruin the whole thing - otherwise a signifincant portion of my long-awaited "goodies" budget goes to the A/C which would really stink.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When I pulled mine the pipe/hose disconnected right at the firewall, I used 2 different size wrenches on either side of the coupling and it did take a bit of pressure to get them apart.

Hey mine had nothing in it when I got the 90, I think it vented out Rover style! (It leaked)

Just kiddin. Funny nobody worries about all of the chlorine in swimming pools.

Even better than that...my dentist told me that the amalgum used in silver fillings of course has mercury in it..they can put in your mouth, but the EPA has special regulations for its disposal when they take it out of your mouth.
