LR Glow Plug relay temp?

Does anyone know the temp the glow plug relay (LR genuine) operates at? I realize the glow plug operates at all times, however I was told the light portion (to the dash startup) of the relay only kicks in under a certain temp. I put the relay in the freezer but had no luck (no surprise since the freezer isn't that cold). The light isn't kicking off no matter what is tried. So right now it's hard wired to operate based on the power to the glow plug (bypassing the light portion of the relay).

Any thoughts are appreciated.
