97 trans/xfer into 95 Disco

Does anybody know if a trans(auto) and xfer(230) from a 97 Disco fit into a 95 Disco? The 95 has a bad trans and I can get a trans/xfer from a 97 Disco for $1500. Both are Disco I's and I think are not electronic shift trans. I would ask on Discoweb , but that site never seems to be working. Thanks Tim

97 Disco Doesn't have a Speedo cable... Just VSS

What about the converter is different? The bolt pattern, the spline that goes to the trans, is it electric? I'm getting trying to install into 95 Disco, will it bolt to motor flex plate? Do I also need the flex plate from the 4.0? Thanks Tim

I honestly don't know, all I know is they are different.

If it is only your trans, buy a reman from erikson (sp) in Conn. ~1200-1300
