How come my front defroster light on the gauge binancle only lights up once in a blue moon. What should I look for to figure out why it isn't working. Funny enough I took the truck on a mud run and it worked perfectly again until I washed the truck.

when it's not working open it up ... put in a probe and see if you get a voltage ... if you do then the bulb connections need attention ... if you don't get out the wiring diagram and look for a crappy connection.

sorry not much of a response but might spur some of the more learned members on the board to respond crushing my inadequate suggestion!

So I really don't know what I am doing with this or how to work a voltmeter. I opened the light binnacle and touched the bulb connectors with the voltmeter and I got a reading but the bulb doesnt work. I tried extra bulbs and I had an extra bulb holder but nothing. Will the windshield get hot when working?

Any idea what to do?

What is the story with the relays? Do they ever go bad? I saw there are like four or five of them that are all the same. I switched them around a bit hoping that would do it. Any ideas?
