The transfercase is the same for both manual and autos. Coming out of a 94, should be the 1.2.

Not THE same, t-cases from autos have a solinoid on the top you need to remove if you want to shift into low. I think some 1997s also got the LT230Q or "quiet" model which has a different gear count.

You need to out whoever screwed you on the deal. Public shaming works wonders for economic efficiency.

I'm the one who bought it. There has been some sort of screw up on the part of the shipper. I don't know why it was sent back to him. I still want the thing and I hope that this can be worked out.

Solenoid takes two minutes to remove. I have a case from an auto Disco on my truck ATM. Other than removing the solenoid, I needed to grind, drill and tap to fit the parking brake cable mount.

There was a misunderstanding. Fedex notified me that the person I was shipping to refused it. I was a little mad and barked too soon. It turns out that It never showed up to his house. He did not refuse it. I need to issue an apology to him for my assumption.

I put the ball back in his court to see if he still wants it. I will update this post again as soon as I hear from him.

Sorry for making you look bad. I just hope you understand my frustration. Please accept my apology. I just have never had an item bouncing around for two weeks and come back refused.

Don't know if this will throw this off topic, but I feel your pain Shane and Bill. Living in NYC I have had nothing but poor experiences with FedEx. Their deliverymen are so lazy that they do one delivery attempt and check three attempts. They never try again (or try at 11am on a Tuesday WTF) and then when I call to check the status they tell me I can pick it up in Brooklyn in the most inconvenient location ever. They're convenient for pick-up, but I've had nothing but bad luck for delivery.

I can only imagine their level of laziness with having to handle a t-case.

Basically the driver goes to lift the box and says "forget this" and writes refused on the slip as he drives away.

Complain a lot to FedEx. They screw up a lot..... I once shipped a capstan winch and mount (huge, heavy box) and they lost it.

Thanks guys. I know it is going to a good guy. I will get it there. Maybe saving ten bucks isn't worth it sometimes, but I want to make it cheap. Sure glad he wasn't in a hurry.

If that's the same one I bought from you, it was actually two huge, heavy boxes, in order to comply with the weight limit. It was fascinating to track the two boxes. You might think they would have shipped them together, but they actually traveled very different routes. Both eventually arrived here in good shape, but the process was a bit worrisome.

The good news is that the winch works fine.

I always worry when I'm expecting a FedEx shipment. Their delivery people are, shall we say, "inventive."

FedEx shouldn't get all the glory. UPS once delivered a laptop, just put it inside the gate, visible to all the passersby, and not even protected by a plastic bag, as they usually do. I was away from home that week, and it rained the whole week. When I took the laptop out of the box (It was a used one, so not protected by original packing.) water ran out of it. I dried it in the oven (barely warm, if you ever have to do this yourself), and it worked fine, but I wasn't really happy about the service.

I worked at UPS one Xmas. If you think the delivery is bad you should see what we did with the packages at the distribution and delivery load up centers. It is admittedly fun though playing "toss the nordic track" with a few of your buddies at 3:30am.

So did I, Xmas of '64. "Platform Man" was the job title back then. It was a good learning experience. Even now my wife marvels at how efficiently I can pack a vehicle.

I still have fond memories of the special care that must have been lavished on the boxes of booze during the loading process. The big trailers would arrive loaded with all sorts of Xmas goodies, and we would have to unload them and shunt the packages off for sorting, then we would load the packages, in order by address, onto the delivery trucks. This wasn't easy, because the fumes in the trailers from the smashed bottles of booze were sometimes enough to almost make you pass out.
