my, water temp gauge ramps up to 12 o'clock pretty quick after starting and in traffic it gets close to the red line.. the engine sensor has checked and replace.. no change..the engine temp is ok.. rovers north suggested that the gauge doesn't go bad..but, the water temp stabilizer switch ( land rover part number AMR 2401 ) is it.. i can't locate the current one to replace it.. any suggestions ? thanks in advance for your thoughts,
dj

How quick after start up, most get up to temp (12 o'clock) after 5 or 10 minutes. How do you know the engine temp is OK? "water temp stabilizer switch ( land rover part number AMR 2401 )" I am not to sure what that is, is this on a 97 D-90? I would think you could find it by tracing the wires from the gauge to the sensor.
