New springs, why are there two different sizes?

Let me start by saying I sure you all know this so just enlighten me. I bought a lift kit from RoversNorth (genuine land rover springs) and two springs are taller than the others. WHY? And where do they go? Do I need spacers for that side and if I do, Why would they do that? I am new to defenders and just trying to replace thing as needed. I have a 110 and it sagged to the passenger side (RHD). I thought buying new springs would resolve that and I wanted to go a touch higher. I just would like to understand why? Any help would be appreciated.

Springs are side specific. I wonder though if you should reverse the sides as I thought they set them up based on a left hand driver always in the truck.

OME does this also. However, if you buy your OME springs from Expedition Exchange (http://www.expeditionexchange.com/ome/indexsprings.php), they match springs and send them to you so the springs for each side are the same. Maybe RN will take those back?

The taller springs go on the RH side.
Saying that though I have he same length springs on my 110 - 90 rears on the front & 130 outers on the rear = heavy duty 1 tonne spec.

The heavier longer tighter wound springs go to the rear. I was not aware that L/R had handed springs and as said before I would recommend an aftermarket spring Call Justin at Lucky 8

My Genuine HD springs were the same way. I looked up the part number for each and made sure they went on the correct side. It looks fine after install.

I have OME 2" springs that are handed like that. I put the tall one on one side in the back and the other side in the front. The truck sits level if just a little low in the front after a year or so.

110 rear springs are a larger diameter than the front springs.

Land Rover and most of the aftermarket spring suppliers provide slightly longer springs to be used on the driver's side of the vehicle, presumably because the vehicle will often times be occupied by only one person (hopefully the driver)? Or is it because the heavy A** battery sits under the driver's butt? I dunno the real thinking behind it, but I know its true..

Many Vendors will (like EE and Great Basin) take apart the spring sets and sell you matched heights (either the slightly shorter or slightly longer ones) since I don't think anyone really subscribes to the 'need' to stagger the lengths like this..
