Hi Folks,
As I'm new to this forum just a few words about me. I'm 28 years old and live in Tyrol/Austria. I got my first Land Rover (was a Series III) when I was 11years old from my dad and started the rebuild. 4 years later the Landy was finally running. Since that I had several different LR's.
At the moment I'm working on a V8 conversion of my '84 oneten. When doing such conversions here in Austria it's required to get the permission of a governmental homologation / testing agency. For this I need a copy of the registration of such a car as it was built from factory. As far as I know the only LR 110 that ever had the 3.9 V8 installed from factory was the '93 NAS110. So is there somewone who can send me a copy of his registration showing the specs? Any information you can provide is greatly welcome

Many Thanks,
Robert

Welcome to the site...

Do you need a registration or a build sheet?

You could go one step further and get a NAS vin and correspond with the LR Heritage group to get the documentation from the source. Then it will be less questionable.

Thanks for the quick answers.
I'm not sure what the difference between the registration and build sheet is. What I need is a document - and best would be if this is an original Land Rover document - that shows dimensions, weights, horsepower, exhaust emissions, towing weight and so on. Believe me, this is much more complicated over here than in the US and it's quite expensive...

The LR Heritage group (http://www.heritage-motor-centre.co.uk/shop/heritage-certificates/technical-specification-packages/heritage-certificate-technical-specification-package-/index.html) is a good idea and I thought already about it. Problem is that they are stating on their website that this is for all LR's from the beginning to '89. As the NAS110 with the 3.9 V8 was only built in '93 (?) they might not have documentation on it. But if somebody could give me a VIN I'd give them a call and try to find out. Anyone on here who would send me the VIN?

Edit: The link I've posted seems not to be the LR Heritage group but the Heritage motor center. Is this something different or is this what you meant?

Honestly, if all you need is a VIN, use this:

Horsey,

Do you search the VINs of every black and blue defender out there while sitting at your computer with no pants on?

No, one would be enough:rolleyes and afaik all of the NAS110 V8 where white...

Anyway, I'm glad about any information I can get about this LR, doesn't matter if this is a registration, build sheet, VIN (I didn't know the website rijosho (http://www.d-90.com/forum/member.php?u=5212) posted) or any other document that I can show for the homologation. As stated above this is very complicated over here and costs a lot of money - everything provided to the agency will save costs and make it easier

Edit: What they like to see is something that shows that the 110 had the 3.9V8 installed from factory and the data (weight, dimensions...) I mentioned above

Robert, what they are saying is to pick any one of the VINs here

http://www.fourfold.org/LR_FAQ/Defender/D110.db.1.html

and then correspond with LR directly to get official documents.

Barry's comment was a (now stale) inside joke about Joshua not having a defender. It kind of ends up derailing most threads these days, so just ignore :)

Early 110's had the v8 as an option as well

But a 3.5. He said 3.9 so I assume EFI too.

Yes, has to be the 3.9 with efi, not the 3.5 with carbs (they were sold over here too). Had the 3.9's in the NAS110 catalysts (I think so but just to make sure)

@Charles: No worry - I didn't take it too serious... I've already got a lot of helpful information from this forum which I couldn't get over here - neither at the German blacklandy.de forum nor at the GB lr4x4.com forum

Thanks

Yes the Motor Heritage Center will issue you a "build certificate "with emosssed seal to certify the exact date your truck rolled off the assembly line. They (Gayden) have all of Rover records up to 1989.

Ask mr. Eric Pagan at Land Rover Traceability in Solihull. He might be able to help you out with a build certificate if you supply him a NAS 110 VIN number.
