For those of you looking for a NEW Genuine Defender TDI bulkhead this is still available. Local pickup seacoast NH, southern Maine. This is the real deal not a patched up and painted old bulkhead. Land Rover parts stickers still on it, black electrostatic primer from the factory. Stored in a clean dry attic on a wood floor.

Am very interested however my lack of knowledge of rover diesels is holding me back. Can someone tell me what the differences are between this and an NAS bulkhead besides the Air Cleaner Bracket? They both use the same R380 so the tunnel shape would be the same. Both have vents. Do they both use the same heater box? Wiper motor? Steering column? What am I overlooking?

I cant answer with absolute certainty as I am not really in the loop any more, someone more knowledgeable should confirm but I think the major difference is the air cleaner. The steering column, and wiper are the same. The heater box is different if you have a 110, if it is a 90 it is the same.

It's basically the same. It will have brackets for the clutch pipe that go both ways (V8 or diesel) the big diff is the internal bracket / fixing points. To use as an NAS you need to remove / modify the dash mountings and Td5 style wiper motor bracket and install some rivnuts for the nas wiper motor. Or go to all Td5 dash stuff. These are all really easy mods and it will be really obvious when compared to the original.
The air cleaner bracket can be switched over from the NAS bulkhead. I like to mount this on 1/4" spacers so it doesn't create a "rot spot" like the original.

I think the TD5 bulkhead is missing the hole for the V8 wiring harnesss.

Yup, that's right. There are a bunch of little things really that although I use these fairly often I don't have the total recall anymore (especially once the medication kicks in). I think the td5 is also missing the brackets for the V8 style underhood fuse block.
I'd guess the point is that there are no real major mods required, and it becomes really easy if you have the old bulkhead to compare. If someone need's photos of the mods I have piles of both bulkheads on hand.
