Anyone sat in one of these things yet?

How, large person friendly is it?

I have stubby little legs but a large torso (ideal for D90!) I am 6'1"

I checked out the Gen 1 Elise when i was in Germany, stubby legs are perfect because the roof comes off! I'm a perfect sportscar sized 5'10" so I'm not terribly objective.

My Dad is also on the list, and did get to sit in one. He is 6'2" and he had no problems.

I am 6'3" and nowhere near could fit in the equivalent Vauxhall VX220 or whatever it's called. Then again my height is more in my legs. Just getting in and out was a major exercise in dexterity. I can't fit in the Merc SLK either with the roof down, Audi TTs are very tight as is the Infinity G35 coupe (neighbour just bought one for his wife :rolleyes. The Lotus looks a bargain though in fun factor terms if you can fit. In fact it's a model for other manufacturers should follow - cars are just getting so heavy and basically inefficient. It is no less safe - there is this silly association that the heavier something is the safer it is. Look at F1 cars as the most extreme proof that light can still be safe.

I checked out the Opel Speedster (an Elise, made by Lotus for Opel) when I was in Luxembourg. It was sweet. If I could have brought one home, I would have. I loved the spartan interior (like the D!). Does seem to be bargain, but I'll until the furor dies down in the States before checking one out.
