Tires

I just imported an '84 D-90 with Insa Turo Special Tracks (265 75 16s). They are a bit more aggressive than I'm going to need, so checking to see if anyone is interested in them. They have <500 miles on them and are currently in upstate NY (Saratoga area). Obviously I'd prefer local pick up. They sell for ~500 pounds in the UK for 4 (~$750); I'd like to get $450 for 4.

What height do they actually measure on the truck? I'm local.

Those look like they will be really good for the PNW mud. You should keep them as a set for when you head up into the hills. Get some AT''s for the road.

Yeah, I seriously considered that. Reality is that I just don't hit the mud that much to justify the cost of keeping them, though I wish I could. The majority of the offroading I do is in gravel or snow.

Caught an episode of "Dangerous Drives" last night where some guys did a big loop outside of Moab- one in a Disco, all the others in very serious looking Jeeps. Don't think the Disco would have made it without a winch. Anyway, had me thinking about hitting Moab when I drive the D-90 back from NY next month. Only been there with a mountain bike and that was amazing- would love to go back.

They measure out at a tad over 31.5" with the truck weight on them (measuring from ground to top of the tire). I could probably convince my brother to drive them down to Sugerties, NY which looks about half way to Kenilworth, NJ.

These things are cool. Just not great choice for making a 3000 miles trip to Washington. I put about 40 miles on them and really wish I'd struck a deal with Gardner for them...They look new-the tires still have most of the little mold nipples on them.
I had the truck on my car trailer and as people passed me on the interstate they were all gawking @ his rig and giving me a thumbs up as they went by.

:confusedOK, so I've been researching these and they are remoulded tires, I understand commercial recap truck tires... but I know that's not what they are. I guess they recycle old tires and remould them, am I write?
They are trusted by Dakar race teams, that's a plus.
I'm assuming these are bais like my SS tsl's which have been daily driven for.... believe it or not... 5 yrs. now, this is why I need tires.
My worn 34" SS are at 32" now, so I could probably live with 31.5".
Also, are these one direction tires, because the SS had to be rotated frequently.... that's why they lasted so long. Can't do that with directionals.... this is one worry!
