View Full Version : Roof Leaks?

It's been raining quite bad in Chi-town this week and not only are my vent seals leaking, but a new leak has sprung up. I can't tell if it is the roof or windsheild.

After sitting in the rain, water will leak from about 1" from the front of both doors. The door seals are fine and it drips from the headliners right by the first retaining nut. I checked the roof seam and it seams fine - I would assume that gravity would have pulled it to the A-pillar if it were the seam.

Any ideas?

TIA

Sunroof? My sunroof hinge leaks ever so slightly when it rains really hard (only when the truck stands still). From time to time, the gasket of your sunroof needs to be cleaned of debri and oil with some silicon based product to give it a good seal.

Do a search for one of my posts on this. I've removed the headliner (front) to get a close look and it appears to come from cracked seam sealer just above the windshield frame.

I haven't fixed it yet but it looks like I'll have to scrape out the old stuff and put new 3M in.
