Well, the 3.9 needs to go -- taking up space. Full engine including fuel rail, intake manifold and trumpets. I may have the distributor for sale with it, or may wind up using it in the 5.0. Valve job at 70K miles, 100K on the clock since '93. I hear that the core charge alone for the heads is around $300 each -- but haven't verified that.

Looking for feedback and interest. Email dwalker at camdenfinancial dot com.

Okay, I'm at a critical point here. Either the engine gets sold or I have to move it out of the shop, bring it home and put it in the bedroom (joke). Can I have an offer please!?!?!? ;) This is my most vulnerable moment -- I would really like to ship this engine in the next week or so instead of using it for furniture!

I will give you a dollar if you take a picture of it in your bedroom. That is my final offer.

Those engines are hard to unload. I am sitting on a half dozen of them myself. Good Luck.

Pendy, terribly sorry but there will be no photo op in the bedroom. Engine is sold locally!

BTW, the TVR 5.0 is insane. First gear is almost unusable. And on the first highway drive, I kept thinking that 5th was 3rd! This beast could take a 6th and 7th! ;) And that is with the strangulation imposed by the 3.9 air flow and exhaust still holding her back!

Good to hear you like your replacement engine. How are you keeping it cool? Radiator I mean.

Stock at this point. Doesn't seem to be an issue, but I haven't run with the A/C on for any distance yet. If I open up the air flow to the engine (4.6MAF, larger breather tube, K&N), then I think I'd have to do something to keep it cool. The engine has the 4.6 plenum on it. The ecu of course is reading the restricted 3.9 MAF airflow, so even full throttle is far from what the engine would do if it was allowed to fully breathe.

Do you have a recommended aftermarket replacement for the stock radiator?

I have gotten my local guy to build a couple full core with dimpled rows to help cool similar motors. I am sure you could get the same done there. If not I would give you their phone number to send a radiator to.

Thanks Pendy -- that's probably the best option. Can do locally here. I'm also installing a manual, non-electrical temp gauge next week to keep a safe eye on things.
