Spotted NYC Canal and Broadway - Non caged 97???

Spotted this ... appears to be a '97 #24xx ... never seen a non-caged NAS ... didn't even have any cut outs where it had been removed ...

was wearing NY plates ... never seen it before.

Ligh bezel indicates an earlier year...both top and bottom are the same size.

It has the cut out on the roof.

It has the 94 front end... Maybe it was in an accident and some of the parts were replaced and they had not yet cut the cage holes.

So it did have a plate on the back? And the 95/97 rear lights?

what makes you think it is a 97? auto?

The front lights were like mine ( which is a 95 ) ... vintage type running light and NAS round indicator. Rear was 95/97 spec NAS lights. If it were a 94 it would have bumper indicators and square lights on the back. As far as I know 94 didn't have any SW's ...

This is definitely a 97 NAS as the #24xx means it can't be '95 when only 500 SW came in ... and it was an auto ..

The paint around the top holes was like the rest of the car ... original looking but no marks to indicate a cage had been removed ...

It has 1993/94 front side market lights, but 1995/97 rear side marker lights. Also, the lower turn signal light is higher up than was factory on a 95/97 and it is missing the "LAND ROVER" badge on the rad panel.

Probably was rebuilt from some sort of accident.

Land Rovers are getting a a bit common in my hood ... might need to upgrade to a mini moke soon!
