Anyone running a rear fog lamp on their D? I feel like I can't be seen well enough from behind and would love to go with the a euro look of the rear lamp. Any suggestions for lamps and mounting would be welcomed with pictures of course! I looked at Susquehanna, but nothing jumped out at me.
Thanks!

What about modifying a Euro lamp? Maybe George could help you out on that. Off the top of my head, I haven't seen any red rear lights aside from the Euro...

Yeah, I was just looking at his site to see the lamp LR has. It's okay. I guess I'm having trouble visualizing where I might mount it.

What about a Hella LED lamp or something, like the Marine ones

Yeah, to make it more complicated, the top of the tub is covered from behind by the rear ladders on the roof rack. :)

Could maybe fit these in the gap between the rear cross member and the body. http://www.hella.com/produktion/HellaPortal/WebSite/Internet_usa/ProductsServices/Marine/LED_Lamps/Flush_Mount_LED/Flush_Mount_LED.jsp
I haven't actually check the hight of that gap yet.

Or better yet maybe you could put one of those reflective triangles in your rear tire Amish style, get one for cheap and it comes off and on easily.......... :finger

Nice. They'll fit if you don't mind a little body trimming as its just under an inch wide.

damn I didnt realise that. no intentions of raggin on the diesal. I just think a D-90 would look funny with that stupid triangle on the back, on second thought maybe that could be an insult. o well all in good fun.....

Don't worry Phil. I was not intending to put a triangle on. I'm very secure with my sexuality.
However I would like a red fog light on the outside driver side like euro cars... :)

The new spec euro fog is the same as a NAS spec brake light but with only one filament. So you could just add a third red light to the other side and wire it as a fog.

I have one on my 110 County It is the same as what the rectangular white reversing light that was fitted on 110's etc that were non US spec'd. A red lens is available. You can buy them from any UK LR parts supplier I inserted a bulb that is of same intensity as normal brake light bulb.

Do you need a fog light (red) or a reverse light (white)?
Or both?
:confused

Michele brings up a good point. I wonder if you could get away with changing the stock reverse lamp to a fog lamp (red lens and higher watt bulb), and making my reverse lamp just my rear worklamp on the rack. I wonder what state regs their are for this? I'll have to check...

I'd stay on a factory setup.
I have a work light at roof level, but unless I'm out (meaning in woods,no light),
the factory reverse light is fine.
