Well I was just poking around on RDS and I saw some stuff everyone is always asking about

Like Door Hinges for $20 each, a cheap fix for those with rusty hinges

http://www.roversdownsouth.com/defender-used.htm

And Seat Belts as they always get caught in the rear door as you are closing it and you break the buckle.

http://www.roversdownsouth.com/specials.htm

$34 is not bad at all, when I called RoversNorth asking them about the belt last year they could get the hole shabang for like $200 or something.

No I'm not working for him, I just saw a good deal or 2 and thought I'd post, we need to get George on the forum to tell us when he gets these good deals.:)

George has helped me out on more than one occasion--I really appreciate all that he does and do recommend him.

Damn.. those door skins are $300 each? I got 2 of them sitting in my car port. I should sell one and build myself 2 roll up window doors. Although I would really like the lift handle kind and he only has one left hand side shell.

I think a number of Series and 90 owners can vouch for George's excellence.

Yep. He's where I got my new panels and wings after the accident. I offhand asked if he stocked covers for the underseat storage that my 90 was missing and he threw them in the shipment.

Mike,

There are a couple of questions you gotta ask yourself before purchasing these 'door hinge' replacements. And just to note, nothing to take away from George at RDS, he rocks, always has answered a question or two when he has a chance even though I've only purchased 1 product from him.

First, how long do you want to keep your D90 ? If more than a few years then don't go this route... you'll have the same problems as you're having or had due to this 'steel' illness.

Second, If I'm planning on keeping this vehicle (and I like to quote someone on this board but I can't remember who) "...till they pry my dead hands from it..." then why not go for something a little nicer, that won't rust like Motosource.com's set. Actually I may be shooting myself in the foot but I don't know if he's got a set ready for shipment. Last I heard he was waiting on them to come in.

In any case, the original was good, you need something better.

As far as the door panels go check out that site on posted regarding 'Wing Vents' and they have a # of replacement panels. Now, don't get me wrong, if I post a site about a particular product it's only because I have too much time on my hands to research D90 products on the internet and on my favorite LR magazines. I do not recieve any type of re-imbursement or anything like that. I'm just obsessed with this truck and love to see new products.

And speaking of links, I've found some good one's this week and another is: http://www.forgetech4x4.co.uk that has some really cool ally interior door products like: window winders, door handles and gear knobs.

Anyway, if you're bored and have money burnin' a hole... lol...

Good night, it's getting late.

Nicholas Orros

Sincerely,

Nicholas Orros

Well if you have the $$$ then go for the Motosource ones but if you don't then the RDS ones are very atractive. I plan on just cleaning mine up and repainting.

Gorge is a great guy. I called him once to order some rear euro lights for my D90 but he wasn't there so I left a massage. He called me the next day and I told I have to hold on since I lost my wallet last night, he asked me what I wanted and shipped the stuff w/o paying him. He told me to pay him whenever. I called him when I got my CC from the bank. Great guy indeed :)

I was having my truck worked on at the dealer in New Orleans. He drove over and dropped off the LR genuine parts that the dealer was out of stock - for which they quoted more - the day they were needed.

I quit shopping at the other LR sources. George is just a great guy to business with.

Just bought 5 new tail lights and bezels from him.
